Payment can be made in cash to

a)Resident Indian up to USD1000 or its equivalent.

b)Foreign National and NRI up to USD3000 or its equivalent.
The facility can be availed not before 30 days from the time of the last transaction.

The Foreign Exchange can be carried mainly in the forms of Foreign Currency and Prepaid Forex Cards.

There is no Limit. But when individuals bring in currency notes more than USD5000 or its equivalent they have to declare the amount brought to the Customs Department at the Airport and collect a certificate called Currency Declaration Form (CDF).

USD3000 or its Equivalent in other Currencies. The Exceptions – For Libya and Iraq USD5000. Higher allowance is permitted for visiting Iran, Russia and CIS countries.

  1. Private Visit -Passport, Ticket/Visa, Pan Card and Form A2 -declaration from the Traveller.
  2. Business Visit – KYC Documents of Corporates, Business Letter from corporate and Form A2 duly filled and signed by Traveller.
  3. PAN card of the Traveller is mandatory for the release of currency in any form i.e. FCN/TRAVEL CARD/TT/DD.

ID and Address Proof documents are basic KYC documents. The documents which help to identify the person is called ID Proof. The ID accepted documents must contain Photograph, Signature and Date of Birth of the holder like Aadhar Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID and PAN

The documents that possess the present address of an individual are called Address Proof like LatestTelephone Bill, Bank Statement, Credit Card Statement, Gas Bill, Aadhar Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID can also be accepted as Address Proof provided if they posses the present address.

The customers have to produce their KYC documents while buying/selling of foreign currencies to AP

Under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme, all resident individuals, including minors, are allowed to freely Purchase/Remit up to USD 2,50,000 per financial year (April 1st – March 31st).

Foreign exchange can be purchased from any authorised person, such as Authorised Dealer (AD) Category-I bank and AD Category II and Fledged Money Changers (FFMCs) are also permitted to release exchange for business and private visits.
